Who bands are wrong for
Bands are not the right primary tool for four groups:
- Powerlifters chasing 1-rep-max strength beyond the intermediate tier. The top end of absolute strength — a 200-kg back squat, a 150-kg bench — requires a load bands cannot deliver.
- Advanced hypertrophy trainees chasing near-max loading on compound lifts. Once you can complete 3 × 12 on the heaviest band you own, band tension caps out and the growth signal weakens.
